Travel & Transportation

A practical guide to air travel, local and regional transit, intercity bus service, passenger rail, highways, road conditions, parking, bicycling, rental vehicles, and rural-road travel throughout Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County.

Confirm before departure. Airline routes, bus and train schedules, fares, stops, parking rules, weather delays, road conditions, and accessibility details can change. Use the official provider page on the day of travel.

Share Rural Roads Safely

Bicyclists, farm equipment, and horse-drawn vehicles are part of travel on many Valley back roads. Slow down early, avoid horns or aggressive passing, leave generous space, and wait until sight distance and road markings allow a safe pass. Virginia law gives bicyclists and people driving animals on highways roadway rights and duties, and motorists must provide at least three feet when passing a bicyclist.
